Creflo Dollar: A Man’s Pain

A Man's Pain - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar MinistriesAuthor: Creflo Dollar

It is not always easy to master emotions, particularly for men. One of the greatest fears that many men have is the fear of rejection. Rejection is the feeling that you’re unwanted, unloved or not accepted—that you’re never good enough. The fear of rejection is rooted in thoughts of inadequacy and insecurity. When a man is unsure of his worth as a person or falsely believes negative things about himself, he will fear people’s rejection based upon his own negative self–view.

The trap that many men fall into is believing that revealing their inner feelings and hurt is a sign of weakness. Many men live their lives burying wounds and hurt that stem from being rejected. The problem is that burying the pain will not allow proper healing to take place. Some men cope with their feelings by constructing a false self–image and building walls around their hearts to protect themselves from being hurt or rejected again.

One of the truths that I have realized is that many Christians, men in particular, have perfected phoniness. When a man doesn’t like himself on the inside, he has to wear a mask or project a false image of himself that he feels will cause him to be more accepted by others. This kind of man usually gains his confidence from externalities like good looks, nice clothes or a big salary. A pretty girlfriend can even be used to increase his self–confidence. The problem is that this is not true godly confidence. Real godly confidence comes from within and is not based upon external appearance or an abundance of things. If a man lives this way for too long, he will eventually become so comfortable with the mask he might find it difficult to ever regain contact with who he really is.

The solution to this soul sickness is knowing that God loves you. Only a man who is rooted in God’s acceptance can accept himself. When a man realizes that God loves him despite his imperfections, he is able to embrace the qualities that make him special and unique, in spite of what others think. This is so important, because many times, we focus on the rejection we may face from others without realizing that we have already internally rejected ourselves. Those who have rejected themselves usually suffer from a nagging sense of failing to measure up. A man’s inferiorities are amplified when he faces rejection—especially from a woman.

Jesus said, “…and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me]” (John 6:37, AMP). A man must focus on who he is according to the Word and who he is in Christ. As confidence begins to rise, it becomes easier to remove the masks that were once worn to protect the real man. Eventually, it becomes easier for him to be comfortable with his genuine self and there is no need for external “crutches.” He will no longer feel that he has to protect himself or his feelings. He is now free to express who he truly is without being ruled by the fear of rejection.

A real man automatically attracts others to himself once he says to himself, I’m worthy because of Jesus. True wholeness comes from an intimate love relationship with God. Men must realize that there is no way to truly be happy with one’s self outside of God. Anything else is just a cheap attempt to cover up wounds and pain with phoniness and external trappings that ultimately amount to nothing. A real man embraces the love of God and allows it to change him. He is secure and strong—in Christ.

Creflo Dollar: Receive a Helping Hand

Receive a Helping Hand - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar MinistriesAuthor: Creflo Dollar

Most of us have made serious mistakes or blunders. When this happens, an overwhelming sense of powerlessness may come over us, and we may feel as if our world is crashing down. However, these times are great opportunities for God to perform the ‘and suddenly’ event in your life. I know I’ve experienced them many times, and I’m sure you have also. We can all recall times in our lives when we needed help, and suddenly someone came along to offer assistance. Whether help fixing a car, or correcting an error at work, it’s always good to receive a helping hand.

If receiving help from others delivers us from stress and bondage, imagine the freedom we experience when we accept the help God has given us! God sent His only Son to restore wholeness to mankind. In essence, Jesus corrected the mistake Adam made when he allowed Satan to deceive he and Eve into disobedience in the Garden of Eden.

Despite the magnitude of Adam’s mistake, which subsequently affected all mankind, God redeemed us, and did so by giving us the greatest gift ever—His only Son. All of us were once cursed, destined to take part in the grim fate of eternal death, and worthy of Hell because of one man’s sin! However, through Jesus Christ, we’ve received a chance to start over and have right—standing with God again.

Let’s explore ways in our daily lives to show God how much we appreciate our second chance. I’ve decided to get up every morning and declare, This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it! I praise Him for His goodness and mercy every day, and commit to share His love with others.

Through Jesus, we have access to God’s grace. His grace is His willingness to get involved in our situations even though we don’t deserve it. God’s grace is unearned and unmerited favor He willingly bestowed upon our lives.

Rest assured today that no matter what’s going on in your life, or what mistakes you’ve made, God willingly extends grace to help you overcome. We’ve all made mistakes, but don’t condemn yourself. Instead, remain steadfast and receive God’s helping hand of restoration.

Put Your “Not Enough” in Jesus’ Hands

Put Your “Not Enough” in Jesus’ Hands - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar MinistriesAuthor: Creflo Dollar

Have you ever wondered how to turn lack into abundance? The key lies not in making confessions over and over or trying to use the Bible as a magic book. Eradicating lack in your life has everything to do with executing a spiritual principle that always gets results. Simply put, if you want to see increase in your finances, you must put your “not enough” in the hands of Jesus. His hands are anointed to multiply whatever you give Him.

Every one of us has faced a situation or circumstance that looked impossible at one point or another in our lives. When you have a light bill due, or your baby needs a pair of shoes and your bank account looks deficient, you will be tempted to worry and wonder how things will turn around, particularly if deadlines and time constraints are involved. If you ever find yourself in this type of scenario, the first thing you need to do is shut out the voice of fear that will try to invade your thinking. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. When fear enters the picture, you have just set yourself up for more of what you do not want.

Get back to your center of peace and turn to God’s Word. Therein lies the answer to your problem. I like the account of Jesus feeding the five thousand with a couple pieces of fish and a few loaves of bread. In Mark 6:36-44, the disciples were facing insufficiency. There were 5000 hungry men to feed, not including women and children, and all they had was a two piece fish dinner! Even after traveling the countryside with Jesus and seeing the miracles He performed, they were confounded when faced with the shortage of food.

However, Jesus did not miss a beat; He performed a miracle. The anatomy of it is found in this passage of scripture (also in Matthew 14:17-21), which says: “And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.”

First, we see Jesus wanted the fishes and loaves brought to Him. Herein lies insight into getting our needs met. We must bring our “not enough” to Jesus. When we do, we will see what happened to the loaves and fishes happen to our resources. “…he…took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled…” Not enough food in the hands of Jesus multiplied to more than enough!

What is it in your life that is lacking? Is it money, a home, food? Whatever it is you need, begin to tap into the law of sowing. Give what you do have to Jesus by sowing it into the life of an anointed man or woman of God, a church, ministry, or outreach that is ministering to others in the area in which you need assistance. When you put what is lacking in Jesus’ hands, it is guaranteed to multiply.

No Self Condemnation : God Knows Your Heart

No Self Condemnation : God Knows Your Heart - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar MinistriesAuthor: Creflo Dollar

Are you quick to forgive someone who has wronged you and move forward without ever revisiting the experience? If you can easily look past another’s faults and shortcomings, surely you can do the same for yourself. Often when we have missed the mark, we forget that the same forgiveness that we afford others is available to us as well. God wants to forgive you the same way He would any other person who earnestly seeks his face. He doesn’t want you to condemn yourself and revisit the situation, the act, the mistake or sin, ever again.

Regardless of the sin, when you sincerely repent in your heart and turn away from those things that displease God, He is faithful to forgive you. He has already promised you forgiveness because of the blood of Jesus Christ. If you believe you are forgiven, don’t carry around the guilt of your past mistakes. That’s self-condemnation and God has set you free from it.

The key to maintaining your freedom from condemnation is understanding the righteousness of God. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior by faith, you are made righteous and are in right-standing with the Father (Romans 3:22). This simply means that you have a right to come boldly to God’s throne of grace and receive forgiveness of your sins, get answers to your prayers and experience freedom from sin.

When you know that you are righteous in God’s eyes through the blood of Jesus, you will begin to see yourself differently. You will no longer carry around a sin-consciousness; instead, you will walk with your head up, knowing that God is looking at you through His Son Jesus. This is by no means an excuse to continue to sin. It is the way out of sin and the guilt and condemnation that comes with it.

The way Jesus pardoned the woman in the Bible who was caught in the act of adultery, and was publicly persecuted (John 8:1-11), is an example of the power of God’s forgiveness. Jesus released her from her sin and told her to turn from her sinful lifestyle. He didn’t condemn her, but loved her instead. Like that woman, you have access to God’s love and forgiveness when you confess your sin and turn away from it. He loves you enough to say, “No matter what you’ve done, you’ve come to Me, I know your heart and I forgive you. Now, let’s not talk about this again.”

If you’ve missed the mark, don’t punish yourself with self-condemnation, which is from the enemy. Worrying and becoming frustrated with yourself are negative behaviors that don’t reflect the thoughts of God. He doesn’t want you to live this way. Once you’ve received forgiveness, there’s no need to worry about what others may say about you. God’s love brings restoration.

Rest assured that God desires each and every one of His children to have peace of mind, a pure heart and freedom from condemnation. The wisdom found in His Word will help you gain the confidence you need to keep moving forward when you make mistakes.

Repeat Offenders: Breaking the Sin Cycle

Repeat Offenders: Breaking the Sin Cycle - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar MinistriesAuthor: Creflo Dollar

While it is true that every human being is born into sin because of Adam’s treason in the Garden of Eden, once a person becomes born again, sin doesn’t have to rule his or her life. Christians have a choice to either obey the Word of God or yield to the temptations of the enemy. By accepting Jesus as Lord and personal Savior, we are translated out of the kingdom of darkness and into God’s kingdom. To remain in bondage to sin would be like sitting in a jail cell with an opened door. When we realize that sin is a choice and use the Word as a weapon against the enemy, we can break the sin cycle forever.

There will be many temptations in life. You may feel vulnerable at times, but one of the greatest benefits of salvation is the fact that through Christ, you are saved from sin and its eternal effects. Sin is a curse, a hindrance to God’s blessings and the very obstacle that adds to and often causes the difficulties of life. Rather than subscribing to the belief that you “just can’t help it,” accept that you can! Whether or not you sin is based on the daily, conscious decisions that you make to obey or disobey God and His Word.

While it is possible to live a virtually sin-free life by focusing on the Word and practicing the presence of God, there will be times when you miss the mark. The temptation to sin does not magically disappear when you accept Jesus. Believers of all spiritual levels still have to deal with the temptations and suggestions of the devil and make a choice. You have authority over Satan, and when you are born again, you have a responsibility to uphold the Word of God. In doing so, you prove the Word and the promises of God to be true and you can defeat the enemy when he comes to tempt you.

Strive at all times to live in a way that is pleasing to God. He holds you accountable for your actions. Jesus said, “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin [would be blameless]; but now they have no excuse for their sin” (John 15:22, The Amplified Bible). Once you know the truth, sin becomes a matter of personal choice. You demonstrate your faith and respect for God by exercising your willingness to choose His way of doing things over your own.

God is a loving Father and He has made provision to forgive you of every sin or mistake. First John 1:9 says that if you confess your sin, He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. If you are born again, you can be forgiven as often as you ask. Yes, at times you will make decisions that fall short of the standards God has set in His Word but don’t beat yourself up about it. Instead, exercise your right to be free from sin through repentance and forgiveness, and immediately begin renewing your mind so that you can make the right choices. Remember, no one just “falls” into sin without first thinking about it.

Being honest and admitting your shortcomings are the first steps on the road to freedom from the sin that binds you. God can’t do anything for you if you are in denial about behavior that opposes His Word. If you gossip, lie or are involved in other forms of sin, admit that you have a problem and ask God to help you. Get in the Word of God and renew your mind in the area in which you have challenges. Confess your sin and move on. “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:10, The New International Version).

The Word is your divine resource to combat sin. It is the source of answers to all of life’s problems; there is nothing that you face that the Word does not cover. Life is a test. The enemy will use sin to try and distract you from God’s plan, but you can break the sin cycle today. When you know who you are in Christ Jesus, and use the Word as your weapon against him, you will be spiritually prepared for any attack.
